The competition to win the wand signed by Alan Rickman ends tomorrow.

I’ve reblogged it so many times, and I hope that it’ll be enough to get noticed and to maybepossiblyireallyhope win it. That’d be so amazing. I’m nearly hyperventilating at the thought. ‘Amazing’ doesn’t describe what it would be. I just… ugh, I’m being silly I suppose. So many people reblogged it, and I’m sure there are more things I could have done to make my chances better, but I really hope I can possibly win it. I love Severus Snape’s character so much because he proves that appearances can be so, so deceiving and that love prevails through so much. He’s an amazing character and I, as well as so many others well deserving of the autographed wand, look up to him (and, of course, JK Rowling for writing his extraordinary character).

Alan Rickman is also such a magical man with expansive experience in acting and in life. Still, his performance as Snape in the last ever installment of Harry Potter (I’m welling with tears at the knowledge and reminder that the movies are done) was truly incredible, heart-wrenching, and intense. I attended the midnight premiere of the movie and was so glad to share sobs with the entire theatre of Potterheads surrounding me at him rocking Lily back and forth in Godric’s Hallow. I have such respect for his character and him as well. I have so much gratitude for the life he gave to the amazing figment. As tumblr has said many times over, he deserves so many awards for his role.

Anyway, sorry for this long tangent, but I’m not really sorry because I’m sure that whoever is reading this agrees as my blog is Harry Potter centered, and if you’ve come this far it’s probably for a reason. I’m also not very sorry because Snape and Mr. Alan Rickman, Sir deserve a post in dedication to them.

To sum it up, Snape is sublime, Alan Rickman is remarkable, and it would be so, so cool if I could win his autograph as well as a replica of the wand that the admirable character used to at multiple times disarm attacks on Harry, the boy he wished to father, and to kill his friend, the brave man who knew it had to be done.

I love Harry Potter; the strength and imagination it has given him; the belief in love  it has instilled in me; and the characters who have, in all honesty, become my best friends and family. Thank you JK Rowling, and thank you to the person who has created this competition so generously and has given me the opportunity to potentially win an autograph that would make me so ecstatic and also given me the opportunity to write a thank you letter to so many characters and one phenomenal author out there who began it all.

until the very end.

until the very end.
